The Cruel Truth About Mink Lashes
The Cruel Truth About Mink Lashes
Mink, are small furry creatures closely related to Weasels. They are very active animals and will roam at least 7km a day. They are also semi aquatic and love a good swim!
They are being targeted for their super soft, thick coats and being used for eyelash extensions and brow extensions due to the realistic look the fur provides.
However, the harvesting of Mink fur is an incredibly horrible, torturous and traumatic experience for the animals. They are kept in cages no bigger than an a newspaper, they are not given water and are often skinned alive when their coat is thick enough, dying in the process.
Depricing these beautiful animals of their natural and psychological needs is nothing more than toture.
Many companies say that they only sell cruelty free Mink, and that the animals are not killed or caged, but kept outside then brushed and the fur is collected. This is not possible. There isnt a situation where mink fur could be "harvested" apart from on a fur farm. There is also no kind of mink farm where they are allowed to roam free. Mink would not be able to be kept free-range because they are very aggressive, solitary animals and would fight each other in the restricted area.
You can help end this. Only buy synthetic lashes and look for the cruelty free logo.
